The Ridge has a lot of outdoor beauty to explore. It may be difficult to decide where to start.
To see some of the best views in town, check out the locations below.
Bille Park is next to Butte Creek Canyon and features a picnic area, BBQs and gazebo surrounded by a redwood grove. If you follow the trails around the park you will be treated to a view of the canyon’s natural beauty.
The view at Paradise Lake is one of a kind with its serene waters and green trees. The best way to take in the view at the lake is from the water or one of the walking paths. Kayak rentals are available at Boat Launch #2.
Along the Skyway you will find the Butte Creek Watershed Lookout featuring breathtaking view of the watershed which looks like a mini grand canyon. If you are visiting in the fall orange, yellow and red hues fill the trees in the canyon.
"Standing on the curve at Lakeridge Circle, seeing the beautiful mountain backdrop, and taking in the crisp air. It is the best place I’ve seen to view stars and birds. Such peaceful serenity, even post-fire."
"Sawmill peak, a high point where you can see so many areas of The Ridge."

"There are so many beautiful views, even more so with the trees gone. My favorite will always be off of Coutolenc facing Sawmill Peak. Partly why we live up where off of Coutolenc. Or at the top of Sawmill Peak getting to see all the surrounding areas."
- Joelle
"Really just about anywhere. With the fire having thinned out the trees in our woodsy community, you can see for miles though our clean, clear air and always have the sensation of elevation. It’s higher up here."
- Monica
"We love the view from Lookout Point - aka Butte Creek Watershed Overlook."
